Room was well presented. Price was quite reasonable. While the front desk staff was amicable and efficient they were somewhat contrived in their manner, while the supporting staff (room service and front door people) seemed far more genuine and sincere.
When a hotel makes a claim that it offers wifi, it should be able to offer the service with some degree of operability. The wifi connection in my room was inadequate.

It was just a perfect match for a getaway in Detroit with best value. The staff was so friendly, making everything easy from check-in to dining. Make sure to check if room service is available before your stay.

The old style eligance complete with doorman. It is very well located for any part of the city.
One of the rooms we rented did not have very good airconditioning but it was cool enough for sleeping.

We were in town for a family wedding and the hotel was very conveniently located to the Church and also to a Kidney dialysis center which my husband had to use while in Detroit! We also were able to take in a street jazz concert just down the block from the Hotel which we just happened to luck into -- very entertaining!
Did not appreciate the fact that Hotel guests were obligated to use valet parking for an additional fee per day. At a hotel of the St. Regis standing I believe that Hotel guests parking should be included in the stay at the hotel. Also I don't believe that this was noted in the booking site. It was not until we arrived at the Hotel that were blindsided with this extra charge!

The hotel was nicer then i expected, as far as cleanliness. i was pleasantly surprised. I would say that it was a decent value for $80/night. It's a short cab ride to most attractions. Not a big thing.
When i pulled in to the hotel there was a little congestion by the entrance from other guests coming and going, so i thought i would save time and park myself. I only had one small bag, so i pulled around back and parked. no big deal. I checked in, went to the concert, and have a good time. When we got back to the hotel at 2:30am, the cab dropped us off up front. When we walked in the valet guy asked if we needed him to park our car, i said "no, its been parked here all day". He started giving us grief about hotel policy, that we are not allowed to self park, and that there is a mandatory $15 parking/valet fee. he was very persistent, and annoying. He demanded the make and model of my car, and followed us up the the room to get the car keys. I felt like...it's 2:30 in the morning pal, leave me alone!! Either explain this to me when i check in, or deal with it when i check out. Not right now. In the morning, the staff at the front desk was very cool and understanding, they waved the parking fee, one time only, and made everything ok...but the situation was annoying enough to mention.

I really enjoyed the Adult Macaroni dish with lobster, salmon, and shrimp. one of our all-time favorites! The chef shared cooking secrets, making it memorable. The room was clean yet dated.
